NCAA Top 25 Poll – #NCAATop25

Things are starting to get crazy and we will soon work our way down to the Top 12-15 as that tends to be all that matters for bowl games.  Especially with the crazy carousel at the bottom.  Here is our Top 25:

1. LSU
2. Boise State
3. Alabama
4. Oklahoma State
5. Stanford
6. Oregon
7. Houston
8. Arkansas
9. Nebraska
10. Virginia Tech
11. South Carolina
12. Clemson
13. Michigan
14. Michigan State
15. Cincinnati
16. Oklahoma
17. Penn State
18. Kansas State
19. Southern Miss
20. Georgia
21. Georgia Tech
22. Wisconsin
23. TCU
24. West Virginia
25. Washington/Arizona State (TIE)

Wisconsin losing in consecutive weeks gave them a big hit.  Unlike the rest of the pollsters we did not reward Standford for a horrible game.  If USC doesn’t fumble it could go to 4 OT.  That is not what a #4 team does against an unranked opponent (or even a barely ranked opponent in the other polls).  Likewise Arkansas was on the verge of losing to Vandy so we rewarded Houston for their monster victory.  Tulsa is on the outside looking in.  They are tied with Houston in conference play and meet in a couple of weeks.

There is always debate about who should be on a Top 25 Ranking. We decided to show something new this year. If you are ranked and lose, you are off the rankings until you win your way back on. You win your way on by beating a ranked team. If a ranked team beats a ranked team they get both rankings. If they later lose, they lose all their rankings. This is what the AP Top 25 would look like after Week Nine’s Action:
