Over the weekend I had the opportunity to spend some time with Vicci Martinez, today we will talk a bit about her album.

Some of you may know her from her appearance on Season 1 of The Voice where she finished in 3rd place behind Javier Colon and Dia Frampton. She was a member of Team Cee-Lo. When I asked her about Cee-Lo she did confirm that he is a bit on the short size, but said that he is not as short as people think. This writer thinks he just looks shorter because he is a bit on the hefty side.

While talking with Vicci it was apparent that though it was a music competition show, the contestants really do get along and become close friends. She and I even had a brief debate about Javier Colon, with Vicci fiercely defending him. I think he is a good singer, but not someone whose album I would not buy. Vicci is a down to earth person who is very sincere and honest and fun to be around. After her acoustic performance, she spent time talking and taking pictures with her fans providing numerous autographs.

But about the album. The first single off the album, which happens to be the first track, is a bluesy track that seems to fit with Vicci’s roots quite well. The rest of the album takes on more of a dance-pop/pop feeling but the tracks are catchy and well written and are suited well for having fun. This is also a good album for a road trip or a work-out. This album is worth buying and we think that you will enjoy it well. Besides, she did not get a Kia when she was on The Voice.

Check out her other albums here.
