Each week we will make our picks for that week’s bowls with the winner in Bold. The following week we will make our predictions and then give you a tally of how we have done so far. Winners of the bowls will be in italics, if I was wrong they will have a strike through. This week we went 4-7 due in large part to the Mountain West out performing my expectations for them. Here is our second week of picks.

New Mexico Bowl
Colorado State (7-6) vs. Washington State (6-6)

Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl
Fresno State (11-1) vs. USC (9-4)

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
San Diego State (7-5) vs. Buffalo (8-4)

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
Tulane (7-5) vs. La.-Lafayette (8-4)

Beef O’Brady’s Bowl
East Carolina (9-3) vs. Ohio (7-5)

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl
Boise State (8-4) vs. Oregon State (6-6)

Little Caesars Pizza Bowl
Pittsburgh (6-6) vs. Bowling Green (10-3)

San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl
Utah State (8-5) vs. Northern Illinois (12-1)

Military Bowl
Maryland (7-5) vs. Marshall (9-4)

Texas Bowl
Syracuse (6-6) vs. Minnesota (8-4)

Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl
Washington (8-4) vs. BYU (8-4)

This Week:

New Era Pinstripe Bowl
Notre Dame (8-4) vs. Rutgers (6-6)
Analysis: Purely going by better record here. Both teams had lackluster years and I can only hang my hat on who has more wins.

Belk Bowl
North Carolina (6-6) vs. Cincinnati (9-3)
Analysis: UNC had some nice moments this year, but Cincy had a better year so I am picking them.

Russell Athletic Bowl
Miami (9-3) vs. Louisville (11-1)
Analysis: Early highlight for Week 2 of the bowls. Two teams that played well this season. I have Louisville winning it in a close one.

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
Kansas State (7-5) vs. Michigan (7-5)
Analysis: Whenever I pick Michigan, they lose. When I don’t, they win. So I am pretty much doomed here. That said, Michigan seemed to choke when it counted and K-State was in a tougher Big-12 this year.

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl
Middle Tennessee (8-4) vs. Navy (7-4)
Analysis: Originally I was picking Midd-Tenn, but I am putting my faith in one of the Armed Forces winning the Armed Forces Bowl.

Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl
Georgia Tech (7-5) vs. Ole Miss (7-5)
Analysis: The Ramblin’ Wreck will give the ACC a win in a close one vs a middle of the pack SEC team.

Valero Alamo Bowl
Texas (8-4) vs. Oregon (10-2)
Analysis: Mack Brown’s departure was causing me to lean towards Texas as I could see the team sending him off on a win. Then I found out Alioti is leaving Oregon for retirement. I can see the Oregon D stepping up for him to send him off on a high note. If they do that, Oregon’s O should be able to outpace Texas.

National University Holiday Bowl
Texas Tech (7-5) vs. Arizona State (10-3)
Analysis: Records tell me to pick ASU. ASU is my vacation destination (well Tempe) every spring. But Ryan Gosling told me to pick Tech.

AdvoCare V100 Bowl
Boston College (7-5) vs. Arizona (7-5)
Analysis: Arizona put together an impressive season at times and tanked at others. I have them winning in a close one.

Hyundai Sun Bowl
Virginia Tech (8-4) vs. UCLA (9-3)
Analysis: For a time it looked like UCLA could be in contention for PAC-12 Champion. For a time it looked like VT would be ineligible for a bowl game. That is why I’m going UCLA.

AutoZone Liberty Bowl
Rice (10-3) vs. Miss. State (6-6)
Analysis: Picking the little guy today. Miss-State is an underrated team, but this is a situation where I will pick the guy from the little conference.

Chick-fil-A Bowl
Duke (10-3) vs. Texas A&M (8-4)
Analysis: A&M did not have the season they wanted, but Johnny Football is going to try to prove he is worth drafting high.

TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl
Nebraska (8-4) vs. Georgia (8-4)
Analysis: Nebraska had some ugly games. So did Georgia. I’m picking the Dawgs in a close one.

Heart of Dallas Bowl
UNLV (7-5) vs. North Texas (8-4)
Analysis: Coin flip on this one. This is another one that came down to wins and losses.

Capital One Bowl
Wisconsin (9-3) vs. South Carolina (10-2)
Analysis: Wisconsin hasn’t won a bowl game in a while. But that will change now under the new regime.

Outback Bowl
Iowa (8-4) vs. LSU (9-3)
Analysis: LSU bites me in the ass. I think I have picked them to win every year and they lose every year. Or that is what it feels like. But I’m sticking to my guns, despite what all my Hawkeye friends say.

Rose Bowl
Michigan State (12-1) vs. Stanford (11-2)
Analysis: Big Ten takes back the Rose. Stanford had a couple shaky losses and Michigan State was dominant most of the season. Prepare for what could be THE bowl game of the week.

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl
Baylor (11-1) vs. UCF (11-1)
Analysis: Fiesta Bowl where the underdogs go to win. However, Baylor is crazy on offense.

Allstate Sugar Bowl
Alabama (11-1) vs. Oklahoma (10-2)
Analysis: This pick is like asking me if I want prostate cancer or colon cancer. Ok, maybe not that dramatic, but I can’t stand either team and both coaches are guys I could care less about. I’m picking Bama and a part of me is now dead.

AT&T Cotton Bowl
Oklahoma State (10-2) vs. Missouri (11-2)
Analysis: Former conference rivals, Mizzou in probably the second best match-up of the BCS.

Discover Orange Bowl
Clemson (10-2) vs. Ohio State (12-1)
Analysis: I can’t stand OSU, but I’m picking them over Clemson. Remember Clemson’s huge loss? Meyer probably built this whole game around it.

Next Week:

Jan. 4, BBVA Compass Bowl
Houston (8-4) vs. Vanderbilt (8-4)

Jan. 5, GoDaddy Bowl
Ball State (10-2) vs. Arkansas State (7-5)

Jan. 6, Vizio BCS National Championship
Florida State (13-0) vs. Auburn (12-1)
