I got my hands on a small sample of Pierre Ferrand’s 1840 Cognac and Dry Curacao and was thinking of what I could make with it. Then it hit me. Fall is the perfect time to transition to whisky, dark rum, and cognac drinks. So I decided to concoct my own version of the classic sidecar.

Sidecar Recipe

Fill shaker with ice
2 1/4 oz Cognac
1 oz Dry Curacao
1 oz lemon juice

Rim glass with sugar (optional). Shake vigorously, strain into glass. Garnish with lemon peel.

I used the two liquors mentioned above and it resulted in a slightly tart but delicious sidecar.
